There are quite some ways to get to Corsica — by plane, train, car, and ferry. We’ve listed the best options below.

Plane

The fastest way to get to Corsica is by plane via Calvi or Bastia airport. We recommend finding the best flight with Google Flights, Skyscanner, Kayak, or another comparison site.

Calvi Sainte-Catherine Airport

This airport is perfectly located at only 20 minutes from both the church ceremony and the reception area, but there are limited direct connections and the ticket prices tend to be higher.

Direct connections:

From France — Paris CDG, Paris Orly, Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, and more
From Belgium — Brussels Charleroi
From the UK — London Gatwick
There are also direct flights from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.

Bastia Poretta Airport

This airport is about a 1:50 hour drive from Calvi and our wedding location, but there are more low-cost options and more direct connections.

Direct connections:

🇳🇱 Most importantly for our Dutch guests, there is a direct flight from Rotterdam with Transavia.

From The Netherlands — Rotterdam
From France — Paris CDG, Paris Orly, Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, and more
From Belgium — Brussels Charleroi
From the UK — London Gatwick
There are also direct flights from Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and many more countries.

Car / Train + Ferry

A slower but more eco-friendly (and adventurous!) way to get to Corsica is to go by car or train and then take the ferry. Here’s how it works.

Car

If you’re coming from the Netherlands, the UK, or northern France, you’ll drive down l’Autoroute de Soleil to the south, where you can find ferries to Corsica in Marseille, Nice, and Toulon. Generally, the fastest route is to drive to Marseille, which is about 9:30 hours from Paris.

Don’t forget to get a ticket that includes the fare for your car, so you can use it while you’re in Corsica!

Train

If you’re taking the train, keep in mind that the easiest way to get around in Corsica is by car, so you might want to rent a car when you get there.

When coming from the Netherlands, France, or the UK, you can get to the south of France by train, from where you can take a ferry to Corsica from Marseille, Nice, and Toulon.

The easiest way is to take a Eurostar train to Paris, where you’ll change to a TGV high-speed train to the south.

The fastest route is Paris - Marseille, which takes about 3:30 hours, while Paris - Toulon takes about 4 hours and Paris - Nice about 6 hours.

You can easily compare French trains on SNCF Connect.

Every summer, Thalys (now Eurostar) also runs weekly direct trains from Brussels to Marseille. As of January 2024, these “Eurostar Sun” train schedules haven’t been announced yet, but tickets will go on sale in March — make sure to keep an eye on the Eurostar website.

Ferry

For the final part of your trip, you’ll take a ferry to Corsica from Marseille, Nice, or Toulon. Some of these are overnight ferries, meaning you leave in the evening, sleep on the boat, and arrive in the morning.

Depending on your booking, the ferry trip can take from 7 hours up to 12 hours for the overnight ferry.

The lines from Marseille are operated by Corsica Linea, which the lines from Nice and Toulon are operated by Corsica Ferries. You can easily compare ferry options with Direct Ferries.

We highly recommend taking the ferry to L’Île-Rousse, which is a quick 25 min drive from the wedding venue.

However, if you can’t find tickets that fit your plans, it’s also possible to take a ferry to Bastia — just keep in mind that it’s a 1:50 hour drive from the wedding venue.

We can’t wait to see you there!
