Questions & Answers

What’s the RSVP deadline?

We would like to know if you’re coming to Corsica before May 31st.

Are kids welcome?

Absolutely! When you RSVP you can add any older kids that will join us for dinner.

For younger kids there will be babysitters on site during the cocktail, dinner, and party. If you’d like to make use of this, you can tell us when you RSVP.

What’s the dress code?

Cocktail attire, with tie optional. Please no sneakers or jeans.

Ladies, we recommend wearing comfortable heels as the venue is right by the sea, and there’s some rocky terrain.

If you’re looking for more information about cocktail attire, feel free to check out this guide. Still lost? Just send us a message!

When should we arrive?

You can arrive as late as the morning of Saturday, August 31st, as the church ceremony starts at 14:30. We’ll be in Corsica from the August 24th until September 5th.

If you’re planning to stay for longer than just the weekend — which we highly recommend — we’ll be planning some things around the wedding. We’ll let you know!

What will the weather be like?

Expect a typical Mediterranean summer climate. Most probably it’ll be sunny, dry, and warm — between 18 and 26 degrees! ☀️

Will we be indoors or outdoors?

The church ceremony will be held indoors, and the reception, dinner, and party are all outdoors. In case of unexpected weather, the outdoors location will be safe from rain and wind.

How do I get around?

We recommend renting a car if you’re not driving to Corsica.

While there are local buses, taxis and a charming train line connecting the island, it’s far easier to drive.

You can rent a car at the Calvi and Bastia airports from most major car rental companies like Hertz, Avis, Europcar, and Sixt. Check out Rentalcars.com to easily compare them.

Alternatively, check out car sharing services like Getaround and Turo.

Keep in mind that you might want to get a taxi home after the party — we’ll keep it going late into the night.

Where can we park our car?

The church ceremony is at the Sainte-Marie-Majeure church in the center of Calvi. There are two main parking lots where you can park your car, and from either of them it’s about a 10 minute walk to the church.

The reception, dinner, party, and brunch are at Le Rocher at Punta Spano. This location has a dedicated parking lot.

How do we get home after the party?

If you’re planning to stay late at the party (we hope so!), it might be safer to get a taxi for the way back.

You can find the local taxi numbers right here.

Do you have any tips on the area?

Absolutely! Make sure to check out our guide to Corsica!

What would you like as a gift?

You know what they say — your presence is a gift!

If you’d still like to give us something, you can view our wedding registry.

Who did the illustrations for the website and invite?

Our dear friend Sandy van Helden helped us with the artistic direction of our website and invite, and did all the wonderful illustrations you’ve been seeing.

Why Corsica?

Laure’s grandparents, Grany and Daddy, did a roadtrip in Corsica in the early 70s and fell in love with the Balagne region of the island.

The family legend is that they saw an ad for a bungalow in Lumio by the side of the road, while they were on their way to the airport to fly back to Paris. They stopped to check it out and loved it so much they signed the paperwork right on the spot.

Over the years, this became their second home — and the place where Laure spent countless dreamy summers with them. It’s her favorite place in the world, and fortunately, Juan is also a fan!

We can’t wait to show you — we think you’ll love it too :)
